A minor earthquake was detected in North Korea's mountainous region on Friday, the weather agency said.
It happened at 12:20 p.m., 24 kilometers west-northwest of Pyongsan, North Hwanghae Province, at a depth of 10 kilometers. Its magnitude was 2.2 on the Richter scale and natural seismic activity, the Korea Meteorological Administration (KMA) said.

"The epicenter was 400 kilometers away from North Korea's main nuclear test site in Punggye-ri," a KMA official said.
