Google Doodle is joining the likes of Rock the Vote, Facebook, and Snapchat to get you to register to vote.
SEE ALSO:Can Social Media Really Boost Voter Turnout?Just in time for National Voter Registration Day — and Monday's presidential debate — Google launched an interactive doodle that delivers information about how to vote. Visitors to Google.com Monday will see a message saying "Register to vote" in English, Spanish and Simplified Chinese. If they click it, they'll be taken to a page with more information.
It's a similar approach to Facebook's "register now" button, which redirected users to vote.usa.gov. Users could also share that they were registered, encouraging their friends to do so. Snapchat also got in on this initiative by partnering with TurboVote to give users celebrity-sponsored advertisements with registration information.

Encouraging registration isn't just good for young people: It can also help people who live in states where legislation suppresses voters.
"By helping more people get registered, we're also helping ensure more people get to the polls and vote," Jonathan Betz, an engineering manager at Google, wrote in a blog post. "The majority of Americans who register to vote end up voting — according to the US Census Bureau, in 2012, 86 percent of those who registered also voted in the November election."
